A socio political group, Benin Progressive Youth Forum(BPYF) has congratulated the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Dr. Asue Ighodalo on the affirmation of his candidacy at the Federal High Court.
The Group disclosed this in a statement issued in Benin City and signed by the Convener of the Forum, Barr. Austin Oriaikhi which was made available to the press.
It may be recalled that on Wednesday 17th July 2024, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja and presided over by Justice Omotosho dismissed a case seeking to nullify the nomination of Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the Governorship Candidate of the PDP in Edo State. The court held that the case lacked merit and affirmed Ighodalo as the duly nominated Candidate of the party.
In its Press statement, the group declared that the judgment was a confirmation of the confidence that the people have in Dr. Ighodalo, adding that the fact that the cases were struck out for lack of merit shows indeed that there is merit in his candidacy and further reinforces public confidence in his capacity and ability to move Edo State forward.
“The manner in which you have remained calm and focused in spite of the unnecessary distraction caused by these cases clearly shows that you have the level headedness required to steer the ship of our beloved Edo State.
We want to encourage you to stay gracious as you carry on in your bid to get our State on the Pathway to Prosperity For All” The Statement reads
